phs Teacrate invest in greener fleet

With a high volume of vehicles on the roads, congestion and pollution have become a growing problem, especially in urban areas. Air pollution in cities, particularly London, is at crisis level. Traffic emissions are the biggest source of toxic air, and in the worst affected parts of London, air pollution is increasing people’s risk of heart and lung disease, along with asthma and breathing illnesses.

In a bid to tackle poor air quality, Transport for London has introduced new regulations, including an Ultra-Low Emission Zone (ULEZ) for Central London. In response to this, we’ve taken delivery of five new vehicles to enhance our fleet of London compliant vehicles.

We have made a big investment into our fleet and now have a total of ten vehicles based at our London depot, all complying to the new London regulations in place from 8th April. All our ten vehicles will be busy working throughout London and the South-East areas.

And it’s not only vehicle emission standards we’ve upgraded. We’ve also optimised our fleet to make our vans safer for our drivers, pedestrians and cyclists.

So what’s new with our fleet?

  • Euro V1 standard engine
  • 6 speed auto gearbox
  • Direct vision window to near side cab door
  • Direct vision left hand turn camera to comply with direct vision legislation
  • Spoken left hand turn cyclist warning
  • Reversing cameras
  • Shutter open, cab alarm
  • Wander lead for upper workstation on tail lift
  • Fixed safety bars on tail lift

So keep a lookout for our new vehicles on the road, and if you spot us, give us a wave!
