Coping with COVID-19

The Coronavirus pandemic has affected us all. Everyone is having to make changes to reduce the spread of COVID-19, including adjustments to daily routines at home, as well as business processes, opening hours.  As a conscientious supplier, phs Teacrate is no different, introducing new COVID-safe arrangements for our staff and deliveries while maintaining our strict crate washing procedures.

While the Coronavirus has not been proven to be transmitted by foodstuffs, plastic crates, trays and pallets used to transport food products can harbour the virus for up to 72 hours, requiring these items to be diligently cleaned between uses.

At phs Teacrate, we’ve always placed a very high importance on hygiene. As a supplier to many of the UK’s leading food producers and retailers, the sanitation of our crates is paramount, as we know that any food supplier’s reputation can be severely damaged by a lack of cleanliness. Our stringent cleaning policies have continued during the pandemic to ensure that all of our customers have access to the crates they need, when they need them and free of COVID-19 when they arrive for use.

Frequently altering Government policies have kept the phs Teacrate team on its toes as our customers react to the seemingly endless rule changes. In particular, access to retail and food outlets, has greatly affected our food manufacturing customers. We’ve worked closely alongside them, through all of the peaks and troughs, to co-ordinate a reliable supply of COVID-safe transit products. This responsiveness has been greatly helped by the recent opening of phs Teacrate’s new washing facility in Durham, which means even better UK coverage and a quicker turnaround time for cleaning our crate stock.

All our operatives adhere to the recommended PPE standards required. If you have any questions or concerns regarding phs Teacrate’s COVID-19 precautions, please contact our Customer Service Team. We’re here to help and together we can stay safe.
